Job Description
Join Walmart as a Lead Picker & Packer with a focus on management training. This role is a unique opportunity for individuals with a strong work ethic and leadership potential to contribute to our fast-paced distribution operations while developing the skills necessary for future management positions. You will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of products, guiding a team, and learning the foundational principles of supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a small team of pickers and packers, providing guidance and support to ensure daily targets are met.
- Accurately pick and pack merchandise according to established procedures and quality standards.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, after certification).
- Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies to supervisors.
- Participate in management training modules, including process improvement, team leadership, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with training new team members on picking, packing, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflow and resolve operational issues.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse or retail environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer literacy for inventory tracking and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages regularly (up to 50 lbs).
- Willingness to learn and commit to a management training program.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role in a logistics or retail setting.
- Certification in operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
