Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Laundry Porter to join our busy hotel operations team. In this industrial environment, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of linens, ensuring a continuous supply for our housekeeping and food and beverage departments. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities
- Transport clean linens from the laundry facility to designated storage areas and various departments (Housekeeping, F&B) within the hotel.
- Collect soiled linens from guest rooms, laundry chutes, and operational areas, ensuring proper sorting and transportation to the laundry facility.
- Load and unload laundry carts, ensuring items are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of linen storage areas and the laundry dock.
- Operate basic laundry equipment such as industrial washing machines and dryers, if required, following safety guidelines.
- Report any damaged linen or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation of linens as needed.
- Collaborate with the housekeeping and laundry teams to ensure efficient workflow.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and strength to lift, push, and pull heavy laundry carts and linen bundles repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail to ensure proper sorting and handling of linens.
- Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry, hotel, or industrial environment.
