Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Porters to join our dynamic culinary team immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or further their career in the hospitality industry, offering free meals during shifts and a supportive work environment. As a Kitchen Porter, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our kitchen, maintaining cleanliness and order, and supporting our chefs in daily tasks. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training for motivated candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash and properly store all dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, kitchen, and food storage areas.
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
- Help chefs with basic food preparation tasks as needed, such as peeling and chopping vegetables.
- Remove trash and recycling, ensuring proper waste disposal.
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations.
- Perform other general kitchen duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (up to 25kg), and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is a plus, but not required.
- Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
