Job Description

BrightStar Care is seeking dedicated and compassionate Home Health Aides (HHAs) to join our growing team in Des Moines, IA. As an HHA, you will provide essential personal care, companionship, and support to clients in their homes, helping them maintain independence and enhance their quality of life. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance.
  • Assist clients with mobility and transfers, including ambulation.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
  • Engage clients in stimulating activities and provide companionship.
  • Monitor and report changes in client's health status or behavior to the nursing supervisor.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.

Required Skills

  • Current HHA certification in Iowa.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor.
  • Ability to follow care plans accurately.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of verifiable experience as a Home Health Aide.
  • CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Experience working with clients with various health conditions (e.g., dementia, Parkinson's).
