Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and security-conscious Fraud Prevention Teller to join our team in Tampa. This critical role focuses on safeguarding our clients’ assets and the bank’s integrity by proactively identifying and mitigating potential fraudulent activities during daily transactions. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to upholding high security standards while delivering exceptional client service. This position is essential to maintaining trust and ensuring the security of our banking operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process routine banking transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and cashing checks.
- Actively identify and prevent potential fraudulent transactions by carefully examining documents, signatures, and client behavior.
- Adhere strictly to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to fraud prevention and security.
- Utilize various fraud detection tools and systems to flag suspicious activities and report them according to established protocols.
- Educate clients on security best practices and how to protect themselves from financial fraud.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion regarding client information and sensitive transactions.
- Collaborate with branch management and security teams on escalated fraud cases and investigations.
- Balance cash drawers and reconcile transactions accurately at the end of each shift.
- Provide exceptional client service while upholding a strong focus on security.
- Complete ongoing training requirements related to fraud trends, compliance, and bank security.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a teller or cash handling role within a financial institution.
- Proven ability to identify suspicious activity and potential fraud.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and transaction processing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and banking software.
- Demonstrated integrity and commitment to ethical conduct.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced fraud detection software or systems.
- Knowledge of common fraud schemes and prevention techniques.
- Certification in fraud examination or a related security field.
- Associate's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
