Job Description

FedEx Ground is seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as a Warehouse Associate. This direct hire position offers a dynamic work environment where you will play a crucial role in our package handling and sorting operations. You will be responsible for loading and unloading packages, scanning items, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods through our state-of-the-art facility. This is a physical role that requires attention to detail and a commitment to safety and teamwork. We provide comprehensive training and a supportive atmosphere for all our employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload packages from company vehicles and trailers, by hand or using automated equipment.
  • Scan packages and update tracking information accurately.
  • Sort packages by destination, ensuring correct placement on conveyor belts or in designated areas.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and equipment operation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area within the warehouse.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily operational goals.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts (training provided if necessary).

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic literacy skills (reading and understanding labels, instructions).
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or physical labor role.
  • Experience operating material handling equipment.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
