Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team as FedEx Ground Route Drivers. This role offers flexible hours and the convenience of working close to your home, servicing established routes within the Davenport area. As a crucial part of our delivery network, you will be responsible for the safe and timely pickup and delivery of packages. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial delivery vehicle to pick up and deliver packages along a designated route.
- Manage time effectively to ensure all deliveries and pickups are completed on schedule.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring their integrity from pickup to delivery.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, representing FedEx Ground positively.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and package manifests.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Utilize handheld scanners and other technology for efficient route management and package tracking.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull packages weighing up to 75 lbs regularly (with assistance for heavier items).
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in delivery driving or a similar role.
- Knowledge of the Davenport, Iowa geographic area.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
