Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fleet Asset Manager with a unique blend of administrative and technical expertise to join our team in Anaheim, CA. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance, and lifecycle management of our diverse fleet of vehicles. The successful candidate will oversee the administrative processes related to fleet operations, including budgeting, compliance, vendor management, and record-keeping, while also providing technical oversight for vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs. This position demands a proactive individual who can effectively bridge the gap between technical requirements and administrative execution to maintain a safe, efficient, and cost-effective fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full lifecycle management of fleet assets from acquisition to disposal.
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs to maximize fleet uptime and extend asset life.
- Manage fleet budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including DOT and CARB standards.
- Administer vehicle registration, licensing, permitting, and insurance renewals.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors for vehicle repairs, parts procurement, and service agreements.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive fleet records, including maintenance history, fuel consumption, and operational data.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of fleet assets to ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.
- Analyze fleet performance data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and optimize resource allocation.
- Lead and mentor a team of fleet technicians and administrative staff.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in fleet management or a related field.
- Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance strategies.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and negotiate with vendors.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- In-depth knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and relevant environmental regulations (e.g., CARB).
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
- ASE certifications (Automotive Service Excellence) or equivalent technical certifications.
- Experience with large-scale fleet operations (100+ vehicles).
- Knowledge of telematics systems and their application in fleet optimization.
- Project management experience.
