Job Description

As a Commercial Bank Teller at Wells Fargo, you will be a vital front-line representative, primarily focused on providing exceptional service to our business clients. This role involves processing various financial transactions with accuracy and efficiency, handling cash and checks, and identifying opportunities to deepen client relationships by referring appropriate banking products and services. You will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of customer care. This position operates Monday-Friday, offering a consistent schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of transactions including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and cashing checks for commercial clients.
  • Verify cash and endorsements, and balance cash drawer daily with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proactively identify client needs and educate them on suitable banking products and services, referring to specialists as appropriate.
  • Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including those related to anti-money laundering (AML) and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Resolve client inquiries and issues professionally and efficiently, escalating complex problems to management when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area, ensuring the confidentiality of client information.
  • Assist with branch opening and closing procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve branch goals and enhance the overall client experience.

Required Skills

  • 1+ year of experience in cash handling or customer service role.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with business clients in a financial services setting.
  • Previous teller experience in a banking environment.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish/English).
