Job Description
Are you looking for flexible work that fits your schedule? FedEx Ground is seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as Casual Warehouse Hands in Wichita, KS. This is an excellent opportunity for those who need flexibility, are looking for supplemental income, or are new to the workforce. You’ll play a crucial role in our package sorting and distribution process, helping us deliver packages efficiently and safely to our customers. No prior experience is necessary; we provide all the training you need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from trailers and sort them by destination.
- Scan packages using handheld devices to ensure accurate tracking.
- Safely move packages, often weighing up to 75 lbs, with or without assistance.
- Sort packages efficiently onto conveyor belts or into appropriate bins.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, lift, and carry for extended periods.
- Basic ability to read and understand package labels and sorting instructions.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or physical labor role (not required, but a plus).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer literacy for scanning equipment.
