Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Apple Compliance Officer with a strong regulatory focus to join our dynamic legal and compliance team. This fully remote position is crucial for ensuring that Microsoft’s products and services, particularly those interacting with or impacting the Apple ecosystem, adhere to all relevant local, national, and international laws, regulations, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks pertinent to technology, data privacy, consumer protection, and platform compliance, with a specific emphasis on the unique challenges and opportunities within the Apple environment. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and providing expert guidance to various business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs related to Apple's platform guidelines, App Store policies, and broader regulatory requirements affecting Microsoft's products within the Apple ecosystem.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvement, particularly concerning data privacy, security, and consumer protection.
- Monitor changes in global regulatory landscapes, with a keen eye on developments impacting Apple's platforms and make recommendations for proactive adjustments to internal policies and procedures.
- Provide expert legal and regulatory guidance to product development, engineering, marketing, and sales teams on compliance matters pertaining to Apple-specific integrations and applications.
- Investigate and respond to potential compliance breaches or incidents, collaborating with legal counsel and relevant stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and preventative measures.
- Draft, review, and update internal compliance policies, procedures, and training materials, ensuring they are current, effective, and easily understood by all employees.
- Act as a primary liaison with external regulatory bodies, industry associations, and Apple representatives on compliance-related inquiries and initiatives.
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for senior management, outlining risks, mitigation strategies, and program effectiveness.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs, with a significant portion focused on technology or digital platforms.
- Proven expertise in regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, consumer protection laws, platform terms of service).
- Strong understanding of the Apple ecosystem, App Store policies, and developer guidelines.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into actionable business requirements.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- High ethical standards and strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent legal qualification.
- Certification in compliance (e.g., CCEP, CIPP/E, CIPP/US).
- Experience working directly with or for a major technology platform provider.
- Familiarity with global regulatory bodies and their enforcement mechanisms.
- Project management experience in compliance program implementation.
