Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Aerospace Material Handler to join our high-precision lab team in Wesley Chapel, FL. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the accurate and safe handling, storage, and distribution of sensitive aerospace materials, components, and equipment within our state-of-the-art laboratory environment. Your work will directly support advanced research, development, and testing processes, requiring exceptional attention to detail, adherence to strict protocols, and a commitment to maintaining a pristine work area. This position demands precision in inventory management, careful handling of delicate items, and proactive collaboration with engineers and technicians to ensure seamless lab operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, verify, and log incoming aerospace materials, chemicals, and components, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and specifications.
- Perform secure storage and organization of materials within the high-precision lab, adhering to stringent environmental controls (temperature, humidity, ESD) as required.
- Accurately pick, package, and issue materials to lab personnel based on work orders and experimental requirements.
- Maintain precise inventory records using designated inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), conducting regular cycle counts and resolving discrepancies.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, cleanroom carts) safely and efficiently, ensuring proper certification and training.
- Prepare materials for shipment, including proper labeling, packaging, and documentation in accordance with internal policies and regulatory standards (e.g., hazmat if applicable).
- Monitor material shelf life and expiration dates, initiating appropriate disposition processes for expired or non-conforming items.
- Collaborate with quality control, engineering, and supply chain teams to optimize material flow and resolve supply chain issues.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, cleanroom protocols, quality standards (e.g., AS9100), and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the lab and storage areas.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in material handling, inventory management, or a related logistics role.
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and work with high precision and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with inventory management software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Commitment to safety protocols and cleanroom procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
- Experience working in an aerospace, defense, cleanroom, or high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification or experience operating similar material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards.
- Experience with hazardous material handling and associated regulations.
