Job Description

FedEx is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Electrician to join our Shreveport team. This critical role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical systems within our logistics and package handling facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical work, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a dynamic team to ensure the continuous operation of our essential logistics infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on industrial electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions in control systems, motors, and facility infrastructure.
  • Install, modify, and upgrade electrical components in accordance with local and national electrical codes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely solutions to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance and operations teams to optimize facility performance.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting industrial electrical systems (480V, 277V, 120V).
  • Experience with PLCs, motor controls, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Electrician's License (Journeyman level or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or vocational training in Electrical Technology or related field.
  • Experience with conveyor systems and automated material handling equipment.
  • Proficiency in using specialized electrical testing equipment.
  • Certifications in specific electrical safety protocols (e.g., Arc Flash).
  • Prior experience in a high-volume logistics or manufacturing environment.
