Job Description
Deloitte Ghana is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Public Policy Evaluator with a strong focus on Statistical Analysis to join our Public Sector Consulting team in Accra. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and executing rigorous evaluations of public policies and programs, utilizing advanced statistical methods to assess their effectiveness, impact, and efficiency. You will work on critical projects that inform decision-making at the highest levels, contributing to positive societal change and improved governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust evaluation frameworks for public policies and programs, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
- Conduct advanced statistical analysis using software such as R, Python, Stata, or SPSS to analyze large datasets and identify trends, correlations, and causal relationships.
- Develop and refine data collection tools and protocols, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, briefs, and presentations that clearly communicate complex findings to diverse stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and donor agencies.
- Translate statistical results into actionable policy recommendations.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and partners to ensure project objectives are met and deliverables exceed expectations.
- Stay abreast of best practices and innovations in policy evaluation and statistical analysis methods.
- Provide technical assistance and capacity building to client teams on data analysis and evaluation methodologies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in advanced statistical analysis and econometric modeling.
- Expertise in statistical software packages (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SPSS).
- Strong understanding of research design, sampling methods, and impact evaluation techniques (e.g., RCTs, quasi-experimental designs).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and findings clearly.
- Demonstrated experience in data visualization and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative discipline.
- Experience working with government agencies, international organizations, or NGOs in a policy evaluation capacity.
- Familiarity with various public policy sectors (e.g., health, education, agriculture, governance).
- Certification in project management or specific statistical software.
- Fluency in additional local languages.
