Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Acoustic Consultant to join our dynamic team in Oakland, California. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive acoustic surveys, measurements, and data analysis.
- Develop and implement noise control strategies for a diverse portfolio of projects.
- Perform detailed acoustic modeling and simulations using specialized software.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and project teams to integrate acoustic solutions.
- Provide expert advice on architectural acoustics, building services noise, environmental noise, and vibration.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to meet client expectations.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of acoustic services.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in acoustic consulting or a related field.
- Strong understanding of acoustic principles, noise control, and relevant regulations.
- Proficiency in acoustic modeling software (e.g., Odeon, CATT-Acoustic, EASE, SoundPLAN, CadnaA).
- Experience with acoustic measurement equipment and techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Acoustics or a related field.
- Professional registration (e.g., PE, INCE Board Certification).
- Experience with building information modeling (BIM) platforms.
- Familiarity with California specific noise ordinances and environmental regulations.
- Previous experience in a major engineering consultancy firm.
- Project management experience.
