Job Description
We are seeking a highly observant and culturally savvy Online Brand Scout to join our trend-watching team. In this unique part-time role, you will be dedicated to uncovering and analyzing emerging trends, brands, and cultural shifts specifically impacting 15-year-old teens across various online platforms. Your insights will be crucial in informing our clients’ marketing strategies, product development, and overall brand positioning for the youth demographic. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of digital native behaviors, an innate curiosity for what’s new and next, and the ability to translate observations into actionable intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor and scout a wide range of online platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Roblox, Discord, emerging apps, forums, etc.) for trends, brands, and influencers relevant to 15-year-old teens.
- Identify and track emerging cultural phenomena, slang, fashion, music, gaming, and lifestyle trends within the target demographic.
- Analyze user-generated content, comments, and engagement patterns to understand sentiment and popular discourse.
- Prepare concise, insightful reports and presentations on identified trends, including qualitative and quantitative data where possible.
- Collaborate with internal strategy, creative, and media teams to integrate trend insights into client work.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and workshops to translate raw observations into strategic recommendations.
- Stay current with advancements in social media platforms, digital tools, and youth culture research methodologies.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to identify and analyze trends on social media and digital platforms.
- Exceptional understanding of youth culture and online communities, particularly among teens.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using social listening tools and online research methods.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field.
