Job Description
Are you a recent graduate with a passion for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science? Capital One is seeking ambitious and talented individuals to join our AI Data Science Fellow – New Graduate Intake 2024 program. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions to solve critical business problems across various domains, including credit risk, fraud detection, customer experience, and marketing.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify patterns, insights, and opportunities for innovation, utilizing a wide array of statistical and machine learning techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, software engineers, and business analysts, to translate business needs into technical requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
- Participate in the end-to-end lifecycle of AI projects, from data exploration and feature engineering to model training, evaluation, and deployment in production environments.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science research, applying new techniques and tools to enhance our capabilities.
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders, clearly articulating complex concepts and their business implications.
- Actively engage in mentorship sessions, workshops, and continuous learning opportunities to grow your technical and professional skills.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, conferred in 2023 or 2024.
- Strong foundational knowledge in machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data structures.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data science (e.g., Python, R).
- Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Solid understanding of data manipulation and analysis techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark).
- Familiarity with SQL and database management systems.
- Previous internship or project experience in data science, AI, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver end-to-end data science projects.
- Contributions to open-source projects or academic publications in AI/ML.
