Job Description

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science? Capital One is seeking ambitious and talented individuals to join our AI Data Science Fellow – New Graduate Intake 2024 program. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions to solve critical business problems across various domains, including credit risk, fraud detection, customer experience, and marketing.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify patterns, insights, and opportunities for innovation, utilizing a wide array of statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, software engineers, and business analysts, to translate business needs into technical requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Participate in the end-to-end lifecycle of AI projects, from data exploration and feature engineering to model training, evaluation, and deployment in production environments.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science research, applying new techniques and tools to enhance our capabilities.
  • Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders, clearly articulating complex concepts and their business implications.
  • Actively engage in mentorship sessions, workshops, and continuous learning opportunities to grow your technical and professional skills.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, conferred in 2023 or 2024.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data structures.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data science (e.g., Python, R).
  • Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Solid understanding of data manipulation and analysis techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark).
  • Familiarity with SQL and database management systems.
  • Previous internship or project experience in data science, AI, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver end-to-end data science projects.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or academic publications in AI/ML.
