Job Description
FedEx Freight is seeking a motivated and creative Junior Designer with a focus on User Interface (UI) to join our growing design team. This on-site role in New Port Richey, FL, is an excellent opportunity for an emerging talent to contribute to the design of critical internal and external applications that drive our vast logistics network. You will work closely with senior designers, product managers, and engineers to translate user needs and business requirements into intuitive and visually appealing digital interfaces. This position offers a chance to grow your skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, making a tangible impact on the future of freight.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for web and mobile applications with a strong emphasis on UI design.
- Collaborate with senior designers to refine designs based on feedback, user testing, and technical constraints.
- Ensure consistency in design elements and adherence to established brand and design guidelines.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to solve complex design challenges.
- Prepare design assets for development teams and support implementation with clear specifications.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UI trends, tools, and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in UI design software (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
- Basic understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Ability to create clear and visually engaging design documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A portfolio demonstrating UI design projects (can be academic or personal).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Familiarity with agile development processes.
- Previous internship or project experience in a corporate design environment.
- Basic understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG).
