Job Description
Join our team this winter as a Christmas Tree Harvester! This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking an outdoor, physically active, and rewarding temporary role with top rates. You will be responsible for the crucial task of harvesting high-quality Christmas trees, preparing them for market, and ensuring efficient operations during the festive season. This role requires commitment, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a team in varying weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently cut down Christmas trees using hand saws or powered tools (training provided if needed for specific tools).
- Prepare trees for transport, including netting, baling, and trimming.
- Load harvested trees onto trailers or designated vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in the field.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with other farm duties as required during the harvesting period.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily harvesting targets.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor outdoors for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions (rain, cold, etc.).
- Commitment to health and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agricultural work, forestry, or outdoor manual labour.
- Experience operating chainsaws or other harvesting equipment (certification is a plus).
- Full clean driving license and access to reliable transport.
- First Aid certification.
