Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fleet Logistics Specialist with an Autonomous Technology focus to join our innovative team. This is a fully remote position (Work From Home) responsible for optimizing the operational efficiency and logistical planning for Apple’s growing fleet of autonomous development vehicles and associated hardware. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, fleet management, and a keen understanding of the unique challenges presented by autonomous vehicle operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring our autonomous technology initiatives are supported by robust and efficient logistical frameworks, impacting the future of transportation and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive logistics plans for the deployment, maintenance, and retrieval of autonomous test vehicles and equipment.
- Manage vehicle inventory, scheduling, and routing to maximize utilization and support various engineering and testing objectives.
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams, external vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and smooth operations.
- Monitor fleet performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee the procurement and management of parts, tools, and supplies required for fleet operations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with service providers, including transport, maintenance, and storage partners.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for all logistics processes and operational procedures.
- Utilize fleet management software and other technological tools to track assets, manage schedules, and report on key performance indicators.
- Ensure all operations adhere to strict safety protocols and company policies.
- Provide regular updates and reports on fleet status, challenges, and proposed solutions to leadership.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or fleet operations, preferably in a tech or automotive context.
- Demonstrated understanding of autonomous vehicle technology and its operational requirements.
- Proficiency with fleet management software and logistics planning tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working cross-functionally.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high productivity and collaboration.
- Experience with project management and coordinating complex logistical tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with autonomous vehicle fleets or advanced robotics systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to autonomous vehicle testing and deployment.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or other data analysis tools.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
