Job Description
Cigna is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Health Coach to join our remote wellness strategy team. In this flexible role, you will empower individuals to achieve their health goals through personalized coaching, education, and support. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to make a significant impact on our members’ lives from anywhere. You will utilize your clinical expertise and coaching skills to guide members through various health challenges, promote preventative care, and foster sustainable lifestyle changes. This role is ideal for a proactive nurse who thrives in an autonomous environment and is passionate about holistic wellness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide telephonic and virtual health coaching to members, focusing on chronic disease management, weight management, stress reduction, and overall wellness.
- Develop personalized health action plans in collaboration with members, setting realistic and achievable goals.
- Educate members on various health topics, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
- Monitor and track member progress, providing encouragement and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, dietitians, and behavioral health specialists, to ensure comprehensive member care.
- Document all member interactions and progress accurately and timely within the electronic health record system.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations and company policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance coaching skills and clinical knowledge.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (multi-state license preferred or willingness to obtain).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Proven experience in health coaching, case management, or patient education.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong empathetic listening and motivational interviewing skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and virtual communication platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively in a remote environment.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Certification in Health Coaching (e.g., NBCHWC, AHNCC).
- Experience with population health management programs.
- Knowledge of various chronic conditions and evidence-based wellness strategies.
- Familiarity with Cigna's health programs and services.
