Join our elite team of Crisis Response Nurses for high-impact, short-term assignments across various Ascension St. Vincent’s facilities or partner locations in critical need. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert direct patient care in acute, critical, or specialized settings as assigned, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Rapidly assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans, and continuously monitor patient progress.
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, and operate advanced medical equipment with precision and adherence to protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, other nurses, and support staff, to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely patient records and documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care protocols.
  • Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including patient safety, infection control, and privacy.
  • Adapt quickly to new environments, patient populations, and clinical challenges inherent in crisis response scenarios.

Required Skills

  • Active unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or compact state.
  • Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience (e.g., Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound clinical judgments and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel within the region for assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Specialty certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), or Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).
  • Previous experience in travel nursing, rapid response teams, or crisis nursing roles.
  • Experience working in diverse clinical environments and with varied patient populations.
