Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physiotherapy Aide with a strong interest in rehabilitation and sports-focused therapy to join our dynamic team in Oro Valley, AZ. This role is integral to supporting our licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will assist with patient treatments, prepare and maintain treatment areas, manage equipment, and perform essential administrative tasks. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in a clinical setting and contribute to patient recovery and performance enhancement, particularly within sports-related injuries and rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists with patient treatments, including exercises, therapeutic modalities (e.g., heat/cold packs, electrical stimulation setup), and ambulation.
- Prepare treatment areas, ensuring they are clean, organized, and adequately stocked with necessary equipment and supplies.
- Clean and maintain rehabilitation equipment, ensuring all devices are safe and ready for use according to infection control standards.
- Transport patients safely to and from treatment areas as needed.
- Perform general administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, answering phones, and maintaining inventory.
- Observe and communicate patient progress, concerns, or changes in condition to the supervising physical therapist.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety at all times, adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, or human movement, or a strong willingness to learn.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to follow precise instructions and work effectively under supervision.
- Physical stamina and strength to assist patients with mobility, lift equipment, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a healthcare, rehabilitation, or fitness setting.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- A demonstrated interest or background in sports medicine, athletic training, or exercise science.
