Job Description
As a Congressional Liaison Aide at Booz Allen Hamilton, you will play a crucial role in supporting our federal agency clients by facilitating effective communication and coordination with congressional offices and staff. This position involves assisting in the preparation of briefing materials, tracking legislative developments, and supporting engagement strategies to ensure our clients’ priorities are well-represented. You will work within a dynamic environment, contributing to projects that impact national policy and government operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a foundational understanding of the legislative process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring legislative activity and policy developments relevant to federal agency clients.
- Prepare summaries, reports, and briefing materials for internal stakeholders and client presentations.
- Coordinate meetings and communications between federal agency personnel and congressional staff.
- Support the development and execution of congressional engagement strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and legislative tracking.
- Conduct research on policy issues, legislative history, and congressional member profiles.
- Provide administrative support to the liaison team as needed.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to conduct research and synthesize information effectively.
- Foundational understanding of the U.S. legislative process.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Previous experience (internship or paid) on Capitol Hill, within a federal agency, or in government relations.
- Familiarity with legislative tracking software or databases.
- Demonstrated interest in public service and federal government operations.
