Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Excel Reporting Specialist with a strong focus on Business Intelligence to join our remote team. This role is pivotal in transforming raw data into actionable insights, creating robust reports, and developing dynamic dashboards using advanced Excel functionalities and BI tools. You will work closely with various stakeholders to understand their data needs, design efficient reporting solutions, and ensure data integrity and accuracy across all deliverables. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills, a deep understanding of data visualization principles, and a proven ability to automate reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex Excel-based reports and dashboards for various business units.
- Automate reporting processes using macros (VBA), Power Query, and other Excel functionalities.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources into Excel and BI tools.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Perform data validation and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and consistency of reports.
- Generate insights from data to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
- Provide training and support to end-users on reporting tools and data interpretation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting standards and best practices.
Required Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization.
- Strong experience with Power Query and Power Pivot for data modeling and transformation.
- Proven ability to write and debug VBA macros for automation.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL for data extraction.
- Experience with a Business Intelligence platform (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Certifications in Excel, Power BI, or other relevant BI tools.
- Previous experience in a consulting or professional services environment.
