Job Description
As a FedEx Linehaul Driver, you will play a critical role in our logistics network, responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of freight between various FedEx Ground hubs and terminals. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding position offering the potential for high weekly earnings. You will operate state-of-the-art tractor-trailers over long distances, adhering strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles (CMV) in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Safely transport freight, sometimes over long distances, between FedEx Ground facilities.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and complete all required paperwork.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including defensive driving practices.
- Manage schedules and routes efficiently to ensure timely delivery and pick-up.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations personnel.
- Secure freight using appropriate tie-down methods to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A)
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, including hours of service
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic laws
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazmat endorsement
- Doubles/Triples endorsement
- Experience with team driving or sleeper cab operations
- Experience operating in diverse weather conditions
