Job Description
As a Warehouse Support Staff member at Amazon in Chattanooga, TN, you will play a crucial role in our fulfillment operations. Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against packing lists.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Operate essential material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks or hand trucks, after receiving proper training.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret basic instructions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 49 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic computer navigation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, reach trucks) is a plus (certification not required for initial hiring).
