Job Description
Are you a responsible and enthusiastic 14-year-old looking for your first job experience? Rupp Arena Management is seeking casual Event Ushers to join our dynamic team at local sports grounds. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop customer service skills, and be a part of exciting community events. As an Event Usher, you will help create a welcoming and safe environment for all attendees, ensuring they have an enjoyable experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and direct guests to their seats or other venue facilities with a friendly demeanor.
- Check tickets and provide accurate information regarding event schedules, seating, and venue policies.
- Assist guests with any inquiries or issues, escalating complex problems to supervisory staff.
- Monitor assigned sections for safety hazards or rule infractions and report them promptly.
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment within designated areas.
- Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures and assist in crowd management during evacuations or other incidents.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow ushers and event staff to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Must be 14 years old and legally eligible to work in Kentucky.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and positive attitude.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in customer service or volunteer roles is a plus, but not required.
- Interest in sports and live entertainment.
- Familiarity with local sports grounds and venues.
