Job Description
Join UPS as a Rickshaw Driver for our City Center Logistics team in Omaha! This unique and vital role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a dynamic urban environment and are passionate about efficient, eco-friendly package delivery. You will be responsible for navigating designated routes within Omaha’s city center using an electric-assisted rickshaw, ensuring timely and safe delivery of parcels while providing exceptional customer service. This position emphasizes sustainability, community engagement, and the precision required to uphold UPS’s legacy of reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate an electric-assisted rickshaw safely and efficiently within designated city center routes.
- Load, unload, and deliver packages to residential and commercial customers with precision and care.
- Adhere to delivery schedules and follow established procedures for package handling and security.
- Provide excellent customer service, including professional interaction and accurate delivery confirmations.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the rickshaw and report any maintenance needs.
- Utilize handheld delivery devices to log deliveries, obtain signatures, and manage delivery exceptions.
- Maintain a clean and organized rickshaw and work area.
- Comply with all traffic laws and UPS safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to navigate city streets efficiently, understanding local traffic patterns.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift packages up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery, courier, or related transportation services.
- Familiarity with Omaha's downtown and surrounding city center areas.
- Experience operating electric-assisted vehicles or bicycles.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
