Job Description
Are you a compassionate and reliable individual looking for a meaningful role with flexible scheduling? ModivCare is seeking dedicated Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) Drivers to join our team in Wesley Chapel, FL. In this critical role, you will provide safe, timely, and courteous transportation for our members to and from medical appointments, ensuring their comfort and dignity throughout the journey. This position offers flexible shifts to accommodate various schedules, making it an ideal opportunity for those seeking work-life balance while making a significant impact on people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles or personal vehicles (as applicable) to transport members to medical appointments, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Assist members with entering and exiting the vehicle, including those with mobility challenges or using wheelchairs/other assistive devices.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable vehicle environment.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with members, their families, and medical staff.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and electronic logs related to transportation services.
- Respond to dispatch instructions and adjust routes as needed to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
- Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
Required Skills
- Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record for at least 3 years.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to lift and assist members, including those using wheelchairs (up to 50 lbs).
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and local Pasco County routes.
- Proof of valid auto insurance (if using personal vehicle).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in non-emergency medical transport, patient care, or a similar field.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- High school diploma or GED.
