Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Clinic Nurse to join our team in a stable factory/industrial setting in Glendale, CA. This crucial role involves providing comprehensive occupational health services, including primary first aid, health assessments, case management, and health promotion to our employees. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess strong clinical skills with a commitment to fostering a healthy and safe work environment. This is an on-site position vital for supporting the health and wellness of our operational staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide immediate first aid and emergency care for work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Conduct pre-employment, return-to-work, and periodic health assessments.
- Manage workers' compensation cases, including documentation, follow-up, and communication with healthcare providers and management.
- Administer immunizations and conduct health screenings.
- Develop and implement health promotion and wellness programs for employees.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee health records.
- Collaborate with safety teams to identify potential workplace hazards and implement preventative measures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, FMLA, and other relevant health and safety regulations.
- Provide health education and counseling to employees on various health topics.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an occupational health, emergency room, or urgent care setting.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health principles, workers' compensation, and OSHA regulations.
- Proficiency in conducting health assessments and providing basic first aid and emergency care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficient with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S) certification.
- Experience in a factory or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of toxicology and industrial hygiene principles.
