Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Inventory Planning Manager to optimize our supply chain operations in Guelph. This pivotal role involves strategic planning, forecasting, and managing inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing costs. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of inventory management principles, and a proven ability to drive process improvements. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust inventory planning strategies to meet demand, reduce waste, and optimize stock levels across multiple distribution centers.
- Lead the forecasting process, collaborating with sales, marketing, and procurement teams to align on demand predictions and promotional plans.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turns, service levels, and forecast accuracy, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage inventory allocation and replenishment, ensuring efficient flow of goods from suppliers to stores.
- Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks, including stock-outs, overstocking, and obsolescence.
- Utilize advanced planning software and analytics to generate insights and make data-driven decisions.
- Mentor and develop a team of inventory analysts, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory planning, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proficiency with advanced planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA/Blue Yonder) and strong Excel skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively across departments.
- Proven experience in demand forecasting and supply chain optimization techniques.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent.
- Experience with e-commerce inventory management and omnichannel retail strategies.
- Prior experience managing a team or leading complex projects.
