Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Military Base Civilian Packer to join our team, supporting a secure federal contract in the New York City area. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate packing, labeling, and preparation of various goods and materials for shipment to military installations globally. This position requires strict adherence to federal guidelines, safety protocols, and company procedures. Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently pack, label, and prepare a wide range of materials and equipment according to strict federal and military specifications.
  • Verify product counts, serial numbers, and descriptions against manifests and order forms to ensure accuracy.
  • Operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks (certification provided if needed).
  • Inspect items for damage or discrepancies prior to packing and report any issues immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize packing processes and meet shipping deadlines.
  • Utilize computer systems for data entry, tracking, and generating shipping documentation.
  • Handle sensitive and classified materials with the utmost discretion and security protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support contract logistics operations.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
  • Proven ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in warehousing, logistics, or a packing role.
  • Experience working in a federal contract environment.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of military packing procedures (e.g., MIL-STD-2073).
