Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Rapid Response Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic Urgent Care team in New Port Richey. This is an immediate hire opportunity for an experienced RN who thrives in fast-paced environments and can swiftly respond to emergent patient needs. The Rapid Response RN will play a crucial role in providing immediate, life-saving interventions, conducting rapid assessments, and stabilizing patients presenting with acute conditions within our urgent care setting. Your expertise will ensure optimal patient outcomes and support the overall efficiency of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct rapid and comprehensive patient assessments in response to sudden changes in patient condition or emergent situations.
  • Initiate immediate interventions, including administering medications, performing CPR, providing advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and basic life support (BLS), and managing respiratory distress.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members to coordinate care and ensure seamless patient transitions.
  • Document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner according to HCA Florida Healthcare standards.
  • Educate patients and families on their conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
  • Maintain a high level of clinical competency through continuous learning and adherence to professional nursing standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and HCA Florida Healthcare policies.

Required Skills

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in an Emergency Department, ICU, or Urgent Care setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make sound clinical judgments quickly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN) certification.
  • Previous experience in a rapid response team or similar emergent care role.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
