Job Description
Join the dedicated team at UPS as a City Driver! This vital role involves safely and efficiently delivering and picking up packages within a designated city route. You will be the face of UPS, interacting with customers and ensuring their packages arrive on time and in excellent condition. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, customer-focused, and committed to upholding UPS’s high standards of service. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a UPS package delivery vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Deliver and pick up packages at residential and commercial locations along a prescribed route.
- Accurately record delivery and pickup information using a handheld device.
- Sort and load packages onto the delivery vehicle according to delivery sequence.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, performing routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving delivery issues professionally.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Handle packages weighing up to 70 lbs, and occasionally up to 150 lbs with assistance.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license (Class C for non-CDL roles, or Class A/B CDL if applicable).
- Clean driving record for the past 3 years.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing route conditions.
- At least 21 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery driving or a similar role.
- Familiarity with local geography and traffic patterns in Tucson, AZ.
- Experience operating package delivery vehicles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
