Job Description
The Nanny League is seeking an exceptional, experienced, and dedicated Nanny for a wonderful family located in the vibrant Zilker neighborhood of Austin, TX. This is a full-time, contract position with an immediate start, perfect for a professional who is passionate about childcare and ready to integrate seamlessly into a busy household. You will be responsible for the comprehensive care of two children (ages 4 and 7), focusing on their development, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will be proactive, energetic, reliable, and possess a warm, engaging personality, ensuring a positive and stimulating environment for the children.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and engaging care for two children, ages 4 and 7.
- Plan and execute age-appropriate educational and recreational activities, including outdoor play, arts and crafts, and reading.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children, adhering to any dietary restrictions.
- Assist with homework and school projects for the 7-year-old.
- Manage children's schedules, including school pick-ups/drop-offs and transportation to extracurricular activities.
- Ensure the children's safety and well-being at all times, both inside and outside the home.
- Perform light household duties related to the children, such as tidying play areas, children's laundry, and organizing toys.
- Communicate regularly and openly with parents regarding the children's progress and daily activities.
- Handle occasional errands related to children's needs (e.g., school supplies, groceries).
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of professional nanny experience with verifiable references.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Demonstrated patience, creativity, and a genuine love for children.
- Ability to multitask and handle varying schedules.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience working with school-aged children and preschoolers.
- Knowledge of child development theories and practices.
- Ability to swim (for pool safety, if applicable).
- Proficiency in a second language.
