Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Hod Carrier to join our construction team in Coventry. This is a demanding yet rewarding physical role, offering top rates for the right individual. As a Hod Carrier, you will be an essential part of our bricklaying and construction crews, responsible for ensuring materials are readily available, maintaining a tidy workspace, and assisting with various site tasks. This position requires excellent stamina, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials, including bricks, blocks, and mortar, to and from vehicles and designated areas.
- Prepare and mix mortar, ensuring consistency and quality as per specifications.
- Carry bricks, blocks, and mixed mortar to bricklayers and other tradespeople using a hod.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, regularly clearing debris and waste.
- Assist with general site duties as required, including site preparation and clearing.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies on site.
Required Skills
- Proven physical fitness and stamina for demanding manual labour.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads repeatedly throughout the day.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Previous experience working as a Hod Carrier or in a similar manual labour role on a construction site.
- Knowledge of basic mortar mixing ratios.
