Job Description
Join Salon Services as a Salon Equipment Fitter and become a crucial part of our mission to empower salon professionals. This manual role involves the installation, assembly, and maintenance of various salon equipment, including chairs, wash units, styling stations, and reception desks. You will travel to client sites across North Yorkshire and surrounding regions, ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient setup of our premium products. This is a hands-on position requiring technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to various salon locations to deliver and install new salon equipment.
- Assemble and install a wide range of salon furniture and electrical equipment (e.g., chairs, wash basins, styling units, reception desks).
- Perform minor plumbing and electrical connections as required (training provided for specific tasks).
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues on-site, ensuring equipment functions correctly.
- Provide basic training and demonstrations to clients on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ensure all installations meet safety standards and client specifications.
- Manage vehicle stock, tools, and equipment efficiently.
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for each job.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with clients at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven manual dexterity and technical aptitude.
- Basic understanding of tools and their safe operation.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions and diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving license with a clean record.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment.
- Willingness to travel extensively within North Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in equipment installation, general fitting, or a similar manual trade.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing or electrical work.
- Experience working with salon or furniture equipment.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant trade.
