Job Description
Are you looking for a flexible opportunity to earn income using your own vehicle? UPS is seeking dedicated Personal Vehicle Drivers to join our team in Charlotte, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering packages to residential and business customers within a designated service area. This is a crucial role for our operations, especially during peak seasons, allowing us to maintain our high standards of delivery and customer satisfaction. You will utilize your personal vehicle to make deliveries, operating independently while being a vital part of the UPS network. This position offers competitive hourly pay and mileage reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver packages to customers' locations using your personal vehicle.
- Pick up packages as required, ensuring proper handling and scanning procedures.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism during all interactions.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and UPS safety protocols, ensuring safe driving practices.
- Organize and load packages into your vehicle based on delivery routes.
- Accurately scan packages and obtain customer signatures where necessary.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and supervisors regarding delivery status or issues.
Required Skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Have a reliable personal vehicle that meets UPS requirements (e.g., proper insurance, sufficient cargo space).
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- Ability to work independently and navigate efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery or courier services.
- Familiarity with the Charlotte, NC metropolitan area.
- Experience using handheld scanning devices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
