Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented WFH Medical Scribe to join our growing remote team. This is a crucial role focused on providing real-time documentation support for our healthcare providers, ensuring accurate and comprehensive patient records. You will primarily assist with medical transcription and various administrative tasks, allowing our clinicians to focus more on patient care. This 100% remote position requires excellent listening skills, a strong understanding of medical terminology, and proficiency in typing and administrative software.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe medical information accurately and efficiently during virtual patient encounters or from recorded dictations.
- Document patient history, physical exams, diagnostic tests, treatment plans, and other essential medical data into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to established medical, legal, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and manage administrative documents, including referrals, authorizations, and patient correspondence.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify information and ensure accuracy.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance medical knowledge and scribing skills.
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60 WPM)
- Strong listening comprehension and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
- Proficiency with EHR systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field
- Previous experience as a medical scribe or medical transcriptionist
- Certification as a Medical Scribe (e.g., CMSC, AAMC)
- Familiarity with various medical specialties and procedures
- Experience with remote work tools and collaboration platforms
