Job Description

Join our dedicated team as a Weekend Lab Assistant, playing a crucial role in supporting scientific research and laboratory operations on Saturdays and Sundays. This part-time position is ideal for individuals passionate about science, looking to gain practical experience in a professional lab environment. You will be responsible for maintaining lab cleanliness, preparing samples, organizing inventory, and assisting senior scientists with routine tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our scientific endeavors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general lab cleaning and sterilization of equipment and glassware.
  • Prepare reagents and media according to established protocols.
  • Assist scientists with sample preparation and basic experimental setups.
  • Organize and maintain laboratory inventory, including chemicals and consumables.
  • Accurately record and document lab activities and data as instructed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
  • Dispose of waste materials properly and safely.
  • Support general administrative tasks within the laboratory as needed.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of scientific principles and laboratory safety.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a science-related degree program (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry).
