Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Billing Associate with a strong focus on insurance and finance to join our team in Greensboro, NC. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring accurate and timely processing of pharmacy claims, managing patient accounts, and resolving billing discrepancies. Your expertise will directly impact our patients’ ability to access essential medications and our financial health. Key Responsibilities
- Process and submit pharmacy claims to various insurance providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing regulations.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and co-payments prior to dispensing medications.
- Investigate and resolve denied or rejected claims, working closely with insurance companies and patients.
- Answer patient inquiries regarding billing, insurance coverage, and payment options in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing records and financial transactions.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to gather necessary information for billing.
- Reconcile daily billing reports and identify areas for improvement in billing processes.
- Stay informed about changes in insurance policies, government regulations, and pharmacy billing best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in pharmacy billing, medical billing, or a related financial role within healthcare.
- Proficient knowledge of pharmacy billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong understanding of various insurance plans (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid) and their billing requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and claims processing.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and insurance providers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration, finance, or a related field.
- Experience with CVS Health's specific pharmacy management systems (e.g., RxConnect).
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy guidelines.
