Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and reliable Skirting Board Glue-Fixer to join our finishing team in Leicester. This role is crucial for ensuring the impeccable finish of our new homes, focusing on the precise installation of skirting boards and other small interior finishing tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately measure, cut, and fit skirting boards using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Apply adhesive evenly and securely to ensure firm and lasting attachment of skirting boards.
- Perform small finishing tasks such as filling gaps, light sanding, and touch-up work to achieve a high-quality finish.
- Ensure all installations meet Barratt Developments' quality standards and project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades and team members to ensure timely project completion.
- Inspect finished work for any imperfections and make necessary adjustments.
- Report any material deficiencies or issues to the site supervisor promptly.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively (e.g., tape measure, mitre saw, caulk gun).
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for precision in finishing work.
- Good manual dexterity and physical stamina for bending, lifting, and kneeling.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices on a construction site.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within residential construction or a related trade.
- NVQ Level 1 or 2 in carpentry or a relevant construction discipline.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Full UK driving license and own transport.
