Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Python Developer to join our innovative team, focusing specifically on Apple data projects. This is a 100% remote role, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United Kingdom, though you will be based out of our Dundee office for administrative purposes. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and optimizing Python scripts and applications to extract, transform, and load data from various Apple-related sources. You will work closely with data analysts and engineers to ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility for reporting and analytical purposes. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring developer with a foundational understanding of Python and a keen interest in data to grow their skills within a world-class organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Work with large datasets, specifically those related to Apple products, services, or ecosystems.
- Collaborate with senior developers and data scientists to understand data requirements and implement solutions.
- Assist in debugging and troubleshooting data pipelines and applications.
- Maintain documentation for all developed code and processes.
- Contribute to code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in data handling and processing.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and methodologies in Python development and data engineering.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python programming language.
- Familiarity with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
- Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A genuine interest in working with large datasets and data-driven solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Understanding of REST APIs and data integration techniques.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with Apple's data ecosystem (e.g., App Store Connect API, HealthKit, etc.) is a plus but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
