Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and motivated Commercial Truck Washer to join our team for night shifts at our Birmingham, Alabama facility. This role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and professional appearance of our extensive fleet of commercial trucks and trailers. You will be responsible for performing thorough exterior cleaning, ensuring all vehicles meet our high standards before they hit the road. This is a hands-on position requiring physical stamina and attention to detail. We offer high rates for dedicated night shift work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform exterior washing of commercial trucks, trailers, and other fleet vehicles using appropriate cleaning equipment and solutions.
- Operate high-pressure washers, brushes, and other cleaning tools safely and effectively.
- Ensure all vehicle surfaces, including chassis, wheels, and cabs, are clean and free of dirt, grime, and debris.
- Inspect vehicles before and after washing for any pre-existing damage and report findings.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations during the cleaning process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring equipment is properly stored and maintained.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet daily cleaning targets.
- Operate vehicles as needed to position them for washing (basic maneuvering in the wash bay).
Required Skills
- Ability to work night shifts consistently.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely in an industrial environment.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and operating machinery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in truck washing, detailing, or industrial cleaning.
- Experience operating pressure washers or similar cleaning equipment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with commercial vehicle types and their cleaning requirements.
