Job Description
We are seeking a enthusiastic and dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team at a prominent educational institution in Chesterfield. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in catering, offering a fantastic opportunity to learn on the job in a supportive environment. You will play a vital role in ensuring students and staff receive delicious, healthy meals, contributing to a positive dining experience. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of food and beverages to students and staff.
- Ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Wash dishes, cutlery, and kitchen utensils.
- Help with setting up and clearing down the dining area before and after service.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food safety guidelines.
- Provide friendly and efficient service to all customers.
- Assist with any other general duties as required by the Catering Manager.
Required Skills

- Basic understanding of food hygiene is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
