Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Audio Systems Designer with a strong focus on AV integration to join our dynamic team in Katy, TX. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of acoustic principles, signal flow, and networked audio solutions, with a proven track record of designing complex audio systems for corporate, education, government, and entertainment venues. This role involves translating client requirements into robust, scalable, and high-performance audio designs, collaborating with engineering, project management, and installation teams to ensure successful project delivery. This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Design comprehensive audio systems, including signal processing, amplification, loudspeakers, and microphone selection, for diverse client environments.
- Develop detailed system diagrams, schematics, rack elevations, and cable schedules using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Visio).
- Conduct acoustic modeling and simulations to predict system performance and address potential challenges.
- Collaborate with clients, sales teams, and project managers to gather requirements, provide technical expertise, and present design solutions.
- Specify appropriate hardware and software components, ensuring compatibility, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Stay abreast of emerging audio technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to installation and commissioning teams.
- Participate in pre-sales activities, including proposal generation and client presentations.
Required Skills
- Expertise in audio system design principles and acoustics.
- Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Visio) for creating detailed AV drawings.
- Strong knowledge of Dante, AVB, and other networked audio protocols.
- Familiarity with DSP programming (e.g., QSC Q-SYS, Biamp Tesira, Extron DSPs).
- Understanding of IT networking principles as they apply to AV systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CTS-D or CTS-I certification.
- Experience with acoustic measurement and simulation software (e.g., EASE, Soundvision).
- Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with video and control system integration.
- Project management experience in AV installations.
