Job Description
Are you passionate about making a difference and contributing to a meaningful cause? Goodwill Industries of Pasco County is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Charity Donation Sorter Auditor with a philanthropy focus for a casual, part-time position. In this role, you will be integral to processing the generous donations we receive, ensuring that items are sorted, categorized, and audited for quality and proper placement. Your work directly supports our mission by transforming donations into resources for job training and employment services, empowering individuals to build better futures.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort and categorize donated goods, including clothing, housewares, electronics, and books, according to established guidelines.
- Inspect donated items for quality, salability, and potential hazards, ensuring only suitable items proceed to the sales floor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sorting area at all times, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Identify high-value or unique items that may require special handling or processing.
- Assist in the rotation and movement of inventory within the processing center.
- Accurately record and audit donation intake and outflow as required.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and productive donation processing operations.
- Provide basic assistance with donor inquiries or receipt issuance when needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs consistently throughout a shift.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify product quality.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a tidy workspace.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of different product categories and their value.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail, warehouse, inventory management, or a similar donation processing environment.
- Familiarity with charitable organization operations.
- A genuine interest in community service and supporting philanthropic endeavors.
