Job Description
Are you a responsible and energetic 13-year-old looking for your first job? The Frederick News-Post is seeking enthusiastic teens to join our team as Newspaper Route Carriers! This is an excellent opportunity to earn money, get exercise, and develop valuable life skills right in your own neighborhood. You’ll be responsible for delivering newspapers to a dedicated route, ensuring timely and accurate service to our valued subscribers. This role emphasizes reliability, customer service, and community connection. Work early mornings and enjoy the rest of your day free!
Key Responsibilities
- Collect newspapers from a designated drop-off point.
- Deliver newspapers promptly and accurately to subscribers' homes on your assigned route.
- Ensure newspapers are delivered in good condition, placed in a safe and visible location.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with community members (if applicable).
- Report any delivery issues or concerns to a supervisor.
- Manage your time effectively to complete deliveries within scheduled windows.
Required Skills
- Age 13 or older (proof of age required)
- Ability to walk or bike long distances, carrying a newspaper bag
- Reliable and responsible attitude
- Punctual and able to meet early morning deadlines
- Good organizational skills
- Familiarity with your local neighborhood in Frederick

- Previous experience with similar responsibilities (e.g., paper routes, delivering flyers)
