Job Description
Join Amazon as a Recommendation Engine Operator and play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance and accuracy of our industry-leading recommendation systems. This 100% remote position offers flexible hours, allowing you to contribute to a critical aspect of the Amazon customer experience from anywhere. You will be responsible for monitoring system health, identifying data anomalies, assisting with model deployment, and collaborating with data science and engineering teams to refine our recommendation algorithms. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the performance and health of recommendation engine systems and data pipelines.
- Identify and troubleshoot data discrepancies or anomalies affecting recommendation quality.
- Execute pre-defined operational tasks related to model deployment and A/B testing support.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to provide feedback on system performance and data quality.
- Document operational procedures and contribute to knowledge base articles.
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed to address critical issues.
- Support data validation and quality assurance processes for incoming data feeds.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in data monitoring or system operations.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and concepts.
- Basic understanding of machine learning principles, especially recommendation systems.
- Proficiency in interpreting data trends and identifying outliers.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with flexible hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with SQL or other query languages.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
- Experience with incident management and ticketing systems.
